about

My Story

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, where my artistic practice first began to take shape. I create mixed media work as a means of processing Complex PTSD and dissociative experiences. My practice is deeply rooted in personal exploration, using layered materials and fragmented forms to navigate the complexities of trauma, memory disruption, and identity.

Through my work, I examine the fluid and often disjointed nature of memory, as well as the presence of multiple internal states. Each piece reflects an ongoing dialogue between visibility and obscurity, coherence and fragmentation, inviting viewers to engage with the nuanced realities of psychological experience.

My Practice

My practice is grounded in a foundation of papier collé, découpage, and photomontage, combined with acrylic paint. Each work is constructed entirely through hand-cut collage techniques, with no digital manipulation, emphasizing a tactile and deliberate approach to image-making.

I incorporate materials such as gems, stones, and gold chains to embellish and extend the surface of each piece. These elements introduce dimensionality and resonance, reinforcing themes of fragmentation, adornment, and transformation while enhancing the physical presence of the work.

From the Netherlands to North Africa, art without borders.

My artistic practice is deeply informed by my experiences traveling across the world. From a young age, I had the privilege of visiting renowned museums and engaging with a wide range of cultures, which shaped my creative perspective. During my senior year of high school, I studied abroad in the Netherlands, further immersing myself in European art and history. Later, in my junior year of university, I expanded my studies to include time in Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, and Morocco, where I explored the rich artistic and cultural traditions of the region. These experiences continue to influence and inspire my work.

Sustainability

The imagery in my collages is sourced from thrifted and recycled books, each one personally selected and collected by me. I hand-cut every element, maintaining an intentional relationship with my materials.

This approach reflects a commitment to sustainability and reclamation. By repurposing discarded texts and images, my practice engages with acts of preservation and transformation, giving new life and meaning to materials that might otherwise be abandoned.
